The data contained in these Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) reports are used by DoD organizations, external government agencies, both houses of Congress, the President, the news media, and the general public. The data contained in this site can be used to understand trends in casualties as they relate to terrain, advances in medicine, the advent of better technology that has enhanced the safety of the war fighter, or the challenges brought about by new threats.

DCAS is an application maintained by the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). The data that DCAS contains is provided from multiple sources, the primary source being that of the military services themselves.

For questions regarding the data, please see the Frequently Asked Questions or Contact Us section.
